One of the main organizers of this years Hack in the Box conference which will take place in July 2010, Dhillon Andrew Kannabhiran, claims in an interview on WebWereld (webwereld.nl) that Windows 7 contains severe flaws which compromise the overall security of the system. According to Mr. Kannabhiran is this a “quite fundamental problem, because an attacker basically can manipulate the PC’s memory.” The issue lies the motherboard (and DMA) of the 64-bit edition of Win7 and causes a weakness, so the attacker can bypass the operation system’s security tools.

So far Microsoft haven’t commented on the issue and is most likely not going to untill the conference takes place.
